Privacy Policy

The website sapirbakes.com (the "Site") is operated by Sapir Dahan, a sole proprietor in Israel ("we"). Your privacy matters to us. This page explains in plain language what information is collected when you visit the Site, what it is used for and what your rights are. This policy was written in accordance with the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, and its regulations.
What information we collect
We don't ask you for any personal details. The Site has no sign-up, no forms, no comments and no newsletter, so it doesn't collect your name, phone number or email address.
Like most websites, some information is collected automatically while you browse:
- Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, language, the pages you visit, the time of your visit and the site you came from.
- Cookies and similar tools used by Google Analytics, described below.
- Information stored only on your device: the Site remembers which ingredients and steps you ticked off in a recipe, where you stopped in step-by-step mode and the accessibility settings you chose. This is saved only in your browser (Local Storage) and is never sent to us.
What the information is used for
- To run the Site and display it correctly and securely.
- For statistics: to understand which recipes people like and how to improve the Site.
Third-party services
The Site uses the following services, which may collect technical information about your visit under their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics (by Google) for traffic measurement and statistics.
- Cloudflare, the Site's hosting provider, which processes technical access data to secure and deliver the Site.
- Embedded videos (Streamable and Instagram, by Meta) in some recipes, which load from those services' servers and may use their own cookies.
- Links to social networks (Instagram, TikTok and Facebook). When you follow them, their privacy policies apply.
Some of these services store information on servers outside Israel.
How to block cookies and tracking
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, use private browsing, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies won't affect your ability to read the recipes on the Site.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Privacy Law, you may ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Since we don't collect identifying details on the Site, there may be no information that can be linked to you.
Children
The Site is intended for a general audience, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Information security
The Site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) through Cloudflare. We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no system is completely secure.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always appear on this page, with the date it was last updated.
